Mask
What's the most important part of the outfit?
For some it is the shoe, the shirts, the hair
But for me, it won't simply be found anywhere.
You can't buy it in a store,
Nor have it tailored.
No, this I have made and perfected on my own.
My mask is what matters,
Without it I don't leave the house,
For it creates a picture far from reality.
A fake smile that has fooled many,
Along with the right words at the right time,
Keep people satisfied.
I know it has flaws,
I am simply human.
And occasionally I let it fall.
As soon as people see the truth
Too many questions would come.
"What's wrong?
How long?
Do you cut?
When did you fall apart?"
All these questions would fill their heads,
But never will they be ready for the answers.
So my mask runs the day.
See if you spot the difference,
Not that it will matter anyway.
