Manila bay

Head in the clouds, I see skyscrapers

below, the ocean seemed crystal clear,

so i search the deep blue waters and,

everything is submerged into a blur

I saw junk, rust, metal scraps and corpses

i gasp, water fills my lungs, they burned

my eyes sting and I choked, suffocated

the weight of my body pulled me down

and so I'm left to drown.

One day my body would float

I'd reach the surface, greeted by the city

and Manila would welcome me with open arms

he'll tell me to never stray away

but to simply stay in the shallow

and never lead his side.
