Mama's little boy

Location

Shhh, little baby

Draped in your mother's white cloth,

Your tears won't do her any good.

Mama's little boy must dream,

Like all mama's little boys should.

The long face you make,

The short breaths you take,

But would it do her any good?

Mama's little boy must smile,

Like all mama's little boys should.

Pretty faces will scribble words on your heart,

Some will stick the pen right in,

But Mama said her boy will find the best,

You know you should!

Mama's little boy must love,

Like all mama's little boys should.

At times you will hear lies,

From a man who has your smile,

He will lie,

Like all dead living fathers would,

But mama's little boy must forgive,

Like all mama's little boys should.

A girl of innocent heart you'd meet,

You will promise her the stars,

the lakes, the oceans, the fishes in them,

break your promise, you never should!

Mama's little boy must keep his word,

Like all mama's little boys should.

And one day, Mama will be in your arms,

Just like you are in mine,

I will struggle a smile on my wrinkled face,

A fine man you'd be, you would.

Mama's little boy will grow,

Like all mama's little boys should.
