Lost at Sea

He scrounges the water for something true

A sword-wielding captain without a crew

Sailing through an endless void of deep blue

His deck is empty

The hollow boards groan under his boots

His gaunt shadow trudges starboard-ho

Periscope to eye, the sun sets low

Sinking in time with his rugged heart

He tilts his hat down over his eyes

Two lagoons deep as the water below

He keeps his feelings at bay

Even when lost at sea

Continuing his trek through night and day

For the golden treasure of his dreams

A chest full of freedom

And a melancholy life to be redeemed
