"The Line"

"I do it because I love you"
That line is repeated almost everyday.
Doesn't it get kind of annoying?
Can't they think of something else to say?
But we have to remember
That "the line" IS true.
Because all they want,
Is to protect you.
Maybe sometimes they go
A little too crazy
And in front of almost EVERYONE
Kind of treat you like a baby.
They wake you up early on Sundays,
So you won't be be a minute late to mass.
You ask, Do I really have to?"
And you let a few minutes pass.
And you would think that
They'd just let it slide,
But nope, not my parents; they'd bug you so much,
You'd wanna run and hide.
Maybe sometimes they're outside the theartre
Just standing there waiting for you.
You might have gone in at one;
And they expect you to be out at two.
But next time you think about saying,
"You don't give me room!"
Try to remember the line;
They do it because they love you.
