A lil Piece of My Heart

A sweet aroma, A calming sense
A solacing presence, A tender touch

Oh what I’d dreamed I’d one day find

Falling lies, severed words, tarnished feelings

All that I’d hoped I’d never experience or feel

The breath, The air, The space
The very essence that I’d not think could fill a void; My void, but still you did.

With every, With any, With all
You took held and let go
Any look view or sight

What I’d hoped you be but became the very thing I came to resent with every part of me
Yet you still have a lil piece of my heart.
