With so much darkness in each life,

The hurt, the fear, the pain, the strife,

It’s hard to keep it off the page

When poetry takes center stage.

Rarely do we ever see

The happiness in you and me.

Give it a try, you never know

The kind of joy your heart can show.

What inspires what we write?

A memory past or future sight?

Whatever it is, don’t bring me down.

No one ever likes to frown.

You know what really lightens the mood?

A favorite song or favorite food.

Think about a hobby or two.

Anything you love to do!

Speaking of love, I do agree

That this emotion could really be

The muse you need for your next line.
