The Light

Your unsatisfied heart couldn’t keep me,

I held on as long as I could,

Reaching blindly in the darkness,

I tried to grasp fistfulls of your sweater, but only ever grazed the fabric,

You escaped from me,

Walking upright, you found your way to the light,

Left me in the cold, left me in the dark, never returned to find me

I lay here now, drowning in the silence,

Stumbling alone through the darkness, nothing to reach for,

Somebody find me, lead me to the light
