Why did you act like I was special

When I knew who was really special to you

Why did you say those things

I didn't ask you to say them

How did it benefit either of us

It did nothing for you

And left me feeling betrayed

Unvalued and lonely 

Realizing you didn't care

What did you gain

Nothing

Why did you say sorry

We both know you didn't mean it

Was it to save your reputation 

Or to give me false closure

All it did was made me wonder

Who else is lying to me
