A Letter To Myself

 Dear me,

Don't you forget who you are

Don't forget what you represent.

How you feel about things

How you care about people who matter

How you want to do good things for people, don't change that. Because caring for people is so hard, but it's special

It means that you're willing to go through so much stress for someone just to make them happy

Don't forget the girl who told you that when you cut a razor in half, it's easier to cut into your skin

Don't you forget the girl who's wrist you've looked at and cried at that one night.

You cried because you knew there was a time where she wasn't happy.

You cried because you cared enough to let a tear out as if it was hers when she made those scars on herself.

Don't forget the people who kept you up at night and made you sleepy the next day at school

Not even the people that make you angry when they won't listen to you when you try to help

you know you were mad because you're really sad

You're sad because you're scared

And you're scared because you care about people too much.

Well, not too much, but enough to let them get to you

But let them get to you because when you feel, it reminds me that the people you really love are the ones worth breaking your heart

They break it by not listening to you when you try your best to help.

Don't forget the beauty you can see in someone with a pure heart.

Don't you ever dare forget what you want. Don't forget that you're here for something, even when you don't know what it is.

Before you find out, do something that's worth hurt. Something that will make you bawl for hours when you screw up or don't pass one of the many tests you are given.

Do something that will make you know who you are and who you always want to be

Be yourself

Be that weird person that you are

Be the guy that you are when you meet new friends and you make it awkward yet funny

Say the dumb things that you say because it doesn't always matter

What matters is the people who will stay to see the you that isn't all silly and playful.

They'll see it when you're serious. They'll know when you're upset

I know it's hard for you to understand how to do things and how to be around people, but you don't have to act like some person who masquerades themselves

Hiding behind the mask of someone that isn't you

Always to remember that you can only love something or someone so much, but always remember to love yourself first
