Let Us Speak

How can you "speak for the voiceless"
When the voiceless have been screaming this whole time?
"Let us in!" We cry, "We don't want this!"

What did we do to deserve this treatment?

We existed. How dare we be born with a few different wires.
"We speak for the voiceless!" You advocate
As the voiceless bang on the window behind you,
Begging to be respected, understood,
Loved.

Oh, those poor souls who have to put up with us, watch after us!
They are merely existing as we slowly tear them down.
Oh, how brave these selfless caretakers are!
To dare tolerate objects like us!
"Not that their sacrifices aren't in vain," of course,
"Because their one state of mind is 'destroy'."

Why can't we speak?
Why are our anguished cries ignored?
We try and we try and we try and we try and we try and
No one dares to listen!

Our disability hasn't taken away our voice,
You have.
