Let Me Go

Peel away my mask

And you’ll find true tears.

All that I ask

Is that you let me fight my fears.

I’ll fall and drown deep

In nightmares of my own invention.

Let them take me to sleep,

Releasing the wretched pretentions.

I won’t run;

I have nowhere to hide.

I’m tired and done.

I’ve tried and tried and tried.

The moment I choose to fall,

And refuse your outstretched hand,

Is the moment I have it all.

Let it end.
