Let Go

Thu, 10/11/2012 - 14:46 -- vjgoode

When I was just a little girl
Mama used to tell me stories
Cinderella and Snow White
And how they found their Prince Charming
She always wanted that for me
But I just want to be free

Like a bird set free from the cage its been held in
Like a prisoner whose chains have been cut
I will run I will fly
Til there’s nowhere left to go
Cause I know
When you love someone
You’ve got to let them fly
You’ve got to let them sore on their own
This I know
You’ve got to let go

I see people going places I’ll never go
I hear stories of places I’ll never be
Cause I can’t stand to break your heart
By going too far away from you
Cause I care too much for you
There are hands that belong together
And his are where mine should be
But do I want to stay here forever
When there’s a world out there waiting to be seen

Like a ship blown around by the wind in the sea
Like love written on a paper in the breeze
I will go where life takes me
Til I’ve reached where I’m meant to be
Cause I know
When you love something this much
There’s only one thing to know
When you need something this much
This I know
You’ve got to let yourself go

So skylines here I come
To city streets and neon signs
The city that never sleeps
Is gonna get a whole lot of me
It better be ready
Cause I need to let myself go
Here I go
Like a bird set free from the cage its been held in
Like a prisoner whose chains have been cut
I will run I will fly
Til there’s nowhere left to go
Like a ship blown around by the wind in the sea
Like love written on a paper in the breeze
I will go where life takes me
Til I’ve reached where I’m meant to be
Cause I know
When you love something this much
There’s only one thing to know
When you need something this much
This I know
You’ve got to let yourself go
