Legs

I have always felt the urge

to squish sand between my toes.

Then again,

I have always felt I should

have

toes.

Seeing her made this a

necessity.

Of course I couldn't

talk to her.

I was focused on

making her breathe.

I pulled her from the waters.

She can not swim,

not without a tail.

If I had to be cursed with one

I was going to use it for saving

my princess.

had to find a way

to be with her.

The sea witch gave me

a three day trade.

Tail and voice

for legs.

I squish my toes in the sand

I can be with her.

I can run to her.

do run to her.

But my feet

stop

in

their

tracks

A man is wrapped around her.

How could I not know.

I was so stupid to think

she could ever be

with a mermaid.
