Learned Emotions

If you read a textbook, there are three learned emotions:

Love, guilt, and shame

Are these truly learned, or so natural they're misunderstood?

We know the basics; the bad, the good

But these three - they lie dangerously inbetween

Guilt and shame:

Their manifestations may be modeled on experience,

but love?

Love is the only thing we are born with

Life is fast and fleeting,

we leave clawmarks on the world because we know we'll leave it

Nothing is promised.

Some are born without arms, without legs

The one thing we all possess...

is love

In this world our only lasting belongings are internal

And love- it is the outward embodiment of our souls.

Love is not a learned emotion.

Love is the most human thing in the world

It is the only thing any of us own.
