The Last Song

Dear Grandpa,

I remember your voice

Comforting and clear

The last phone call

Sing for Me I hear

I remember your touch

Gentle and calming

But you lie there stiff

And hear crying and sobbing

I remember your laughter

Good-hearted and beaming

Can you hear my words?

Because inside I’m screaming

I remember the memories made

The trips and adventures

But most importantly your love

Missed by all of your family members

I remember you there

Of the memories you bring

But this time I perform only for you

Can you still hear me sing?
