Lacrosse Girl

the blood in my veins are the tears that cry out from the lacerations on your heart.
i see the ones on your wrist and i say to myself, "has she never felt love?"
you blend in with the crowd like a little kid at a parade.
long black hair perfectly curled at the tips; no match for the darkness
that dwells beneath your foundation covered black eye.
you put lip gloss over that split lip in hopes that it will heal your soul.
when they ask you say "you should see the other guy" and laugh it off.
but it's not a joke to me; you're not a joke to me.
I see you.
I see you.
