One nation
Under God
Indivisible
With liberty and justice for all

The biggest lie ever told

We like to think it's equal
Like we don't walk around with labels
Gay, straight, prude, who're
Black, white, rich, poor
We're all labels
We're trained
To be like our parents
To hate what they hate
Accept what they accept
Burn and preach what they
Burn and preach

In the courtroom
The black loses to the white
In the workplace
The woman loses to the man
In the hallways
The gay loses to the straight

Who are we to you?
Who am I?
Do you not see my heart?
My eyes?
My soul, deep inside?

Do you not see my true self?
My love?
Do you not comprehend anything
Beyond your short line of sight?
There's more to life than being
A rich, white, married man

What if we were blind?
Stripped down to our labels?
Is your married card a trump
To my single?
Can you cut me in line,
Because you're a republican
And I a democrat?
Do you get the best seat,
Because you enjoy the socially acceptable genitalia for your gender?

We are NOT one nation
we ARE divisible
With liberty and justice for SOME
