Kisses of Dew
Early morning
The sun is still rising
The fields are still blanketed
With spider's webs
That the morning sunlight
Shine directly through
Glistening like diamonds
Heavy with kisses of dew
Soon to evaporate
In the sun's warmth and light
Even the bashful moon
Hasn't yet realized
That the day has killed the night
So in the sky it hangs
Ignorant of its fate
The sun rises higher
The clouds dissipate
The shadows all recede
Chased away for another day
Until the sun sinks low
And the moon comes back out to play
