The King of words

Hebrews 4:12

12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.

Write down simple understanding

What a blessing to have a pen in hand

Just to put thoughts on paper

To freely share with few in land

Who really cares about what I’m thinking?

Who really gives a flip?

But that won’t keep me from writing

For me it’s just a double dip

To enjoy what I scratch on paper

And later when I type it in

Then to forget as soon as a vapor

That blows the thoughtful leaves within

Springtime bringing live to the surface

Summer makes the dessert blister

Fall seems to have its appointed purpose

As in winter dormant rules consistent

Long lives the king of words

Liberalism again on the rampage

Freedom close to its final gasp

As dissatisfaction embraces outrage

The church here now to satisfy

Surely here to comfort feelings

Right and wrong then walk as one

To the world’s mighty appealing
