Ratta - Tat - Tat

I hear you coming from your room,

“how’d you get out?” I asked

Rosy cheeks and a big grin a three year old can make,

“I climbed down” he says,

I look at the child before me thinking,

I never knew such a love before.

Looking a few years back,

Who would have thought,

You would be getting out of your crib alone and walking to me.

One day you will be driving,

Hanging with friends,

And asking for the car.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves yet.

That is a long way to go before any of this happens.

For now you can stick to my loving three year old.
