Location

I see your silly grin

From the corner of my eye.

In that moment, I know your intention.

You run up and hug me, reaching only my thighs.

I see your eyes dot to my bed

Where your goal innocently was laying.

Slowly you pull yourself close to my head.

You grin and kiss my cheek, saying,

“I love you, Aunty Dora.”

I shake my head and tell you no,

I can tell you’re determined by your aura.

Slowly, I see you creep up the blankets, first the throw.

I chuckle quietly to myself.

Your blue eyes drift back my way,

Though your body continues to the shelf.

A smirk dances on my face as I watch you sway.

You’re so close to your goal

You can almost feel the fuzzy tail of the lemur like creature

I reach my hands out and grab you,

Jerking you away from your prize.

My fingers fly to your belly.

Laughs erupt from your mouth.

I push the stuffed animals off the bed

I pull you into my arms.

No matter what,

Through thick and thin,

You will always be my precious niece and

My bouncing, bubbly, Beany Butt.
