Its Not Real

when did this start,

everything was fine just a moment ago,

at least we thought it was,

what if it all left, the things we once knew, were gone forever,

lets brainstorm that it did, leave

what would you do, will you be able to manage

born and raised, to show a smile

just act like we are all saying cheese

all the time, maybe then we’ll get by,

pretend you don’t see me cry

i’ll be fine, just give me a minute

i’m used to it, happens all this time,

lost in my dreams, they tell us to follow our dreams,

then judge us when they don’t match theirs

don’t believe what you see,

seeing isn’t believing, believing is seeing,

they didn’t mean to teach me that, i learned it from a secret message

in a childhood movie, have you heard of it,

doesn’t sound like you have,

the things you call news are just your preferred news,

things to distract us, and make us think we are ok

we don’t know what is really happening,

they feed us this and tell us it’s healthy,

just don’t ask what's in it,

remember when you didn’t know what was going on,

a child with a real smile, not having to force it

but what if it was all gone, will you be ok to live,

to see the truth and still act like i’m saying cheese

let us wait and see
