It's a Dependence

Some may say "Oh, she just really like music."
Others "She's not that talkative."
But really, I need the musical notes.
When I forget those noise-bloking wires, my mind takes over.
When I don't have a tempo seared into my brain,
My foot taps to an uneven beat.
When I don't feel the familiar rubber in my ear,
I feel like everyone can read my thoughts.
I wear those little buds to ignore all who say I can't.
I need the guitar and drums to propel me forward.
So if I were asked what I'd bring to a world of sand,
My music would be my first, and only, choice.

This poem is about:
Me
