BEEP. BEEP. BEEP

That's my alarm for me to get up and start the day.

  I wake up at 5:30 am

  And for what?

    Because I know I have to be grateful to wake up at all.

      Grateful that I can go to school even though I'm female.

      Grateful that I can go to school even though I am African.

      Grateful that I can go to school and make my family PROUD of me.

I also have to represent black exellence and do what my mother couldn't

  GO TO COLLEGE

So that's why I wake up so early in the morning

  So I can remind myself to be grateful

  Represent my black brothers and sisters

  Get my diplomas

  And finish what my family started.
