Innocence

Location

Lubbock
United States

Innocence lies in all that lives,

To receive the beauty that life gives

Our strength caged in pure dark,

Quarters cramped beyond stark

No sign of sunlight or breath of air,

Only fear fed with despair

Their only crime being lowly born,

Sentenced to death in every dire form

Murdered flesh for a table to grace,

A human’s meal from a hellish place

No hope for love or sign of life,

Only born for the blade of a knife

Blood like a river; flows

Skin and bone like a mountain grows

Who will save them; compassion show

Is there any to relieve their woes?
