Inner Peace

Location

The precise beauty of daylight is too valuable to waste,

I love to exercise, never in haste.

As I walk downward, towards the lake,

All my senses are fully awake.

I see squirrels, squeeze, through brush and trees,

As I turn my face upward, and feel the breeze.

I feel the warmth of the sunlight, upon my face,

And I feel grace.

I desire to see the top of trees, reaching high into the clear, blue skies,

And I realize that nature is my ties.

I am an athlete, walker, runner, and adventurist.

As I conspire to get into shape,

All I can do is gape, as I explore old cemeteries, stone houses, and primitive campsites.

As I walk, through the park,

I come to realize that I am happy as a lark!

For this is America, the country that I love!

I am free as a squirrel,

And never again do I want to quarrel!

All my fears cease.

This is my life, and my inner peace.
