Here’s recognition of the way

you dance and sing for me;

with your clever, addictive sounds and intriguing patterns,

as well as your captivating culture.

Your allurement carved a path

I had only known as uncrossable terrain

filled with barred gates and walls too tall to climb.

I’ve learned to confidently defend and embrace

all of my passions -

even if they seem childish or contradicting.

 

Here’s the continued praise for the one concert I attended

out of the many I will never see.

And yet the music travels through my thoughts

just as powerfully,

and through my voice, imitating you.

 

Every door to new chances,

Every door to new obstacles,

Every goal that I want to reach as of late,

has been because of you.

 

Where to go from now on,

I do not know.
