Imagine

Imagine your dreams
Reflecting your emptiness,
Spinning wildly out of control,
You can't slow down, you can't stop,
You wake up sick to your stomach.
Imagine being stuck in a rut everyday,
You do something different, but it all feels the same.
Imagine not being able,
Able? That's the only way to describe it.
You're tired, you're sad, anxious, and every inch of you hurts.
There's no reason to hurt, but you just do.
Imagine pushing the darkness out,
Feeling like you're fighting for your life,
You're losing. You can't win on your own.
Imagine your friends and family,
Getting tired of you.
They're tired of your sadness,
Of your supposed laziness.
You can't describe it to them, they won't understand.
Imagine suffering a crippling depression,
And having to live like that, day to day.
There's no way to get help, nobody is open to help you.
Imagine contemplating suicide in everything you do,
Imagine fighting off the horrible urge to hurt yourself
Just to make it all stop for a while.
Imagine suffering on your own,
Because nobody understands just how dark depression can be.
