I'm Okay Being Just Me

I’m Okay Being Just Me

I don’t label myself a social butterfly.

I tend to hold back sometimes, but I have more to me than you see.

I have a small group of friends, as funny as can be.

My family, so loving and gentle; never wanting to see me cry,

Always pushing me to my success, to see me happy and sore the sky.

I found fulfillment in who I am, I’m confident in my stride.

But,

I got to know and understand you.

You made me feel like life was a joyride; my story that I was writing.

You made me feel more okay with being me.

I don’t have to impress anyone, not even you.

Everything I do somehow manages to amaze you.

I am proud of who I’ve changed to from being with you.

You’re my best friend, my motivator, and my inspiration.

Everything great I’ve done up to now, it’s because of you.

Thank you, mom.
