If Only

If only you had said something,

If only you had told me.

If only you had let me know

That you wanted to be free.

If only I had said something,

If only I had asked you.

If only I had showed you that

My love was pure and true.

If only I had noticed

Your helpless cries and pleas.

If only I had looked back and seen

That you were shaking in your knees.

If only I could change

What cruel plan Fate had in store.

But now that it's too late I see

I only notice what I deplore.

If only you had asked for help,

If only you had screamed.

If only I could bring you back

From the land of the deceased.

If only there was hope left,

If only time would tell.

If only I had the courage to

Commit suicide as well.
