If I were a Boy
I would speak my mind.
I would get away with acting foolish.
I would not let anything get to me.
I never look back.
But I’m just a girl.
I’m just a target in a boy’s playground.

I am a girl.
I do speak my mind.
I do as a please.
I do not hide behind a shield.
I always look forward.
I am stronger than how people see me.
One day everybody is going to see that.
If it takes a day or a decade,
I know my place is not determined by my gender.
