If I could, I would take away all the pain

The pain I feel every day.

I know I am not alone,

not the only one whose mood drops so low.

Sometimes you feel like dying,

I know you do, because I feel it too.

Is it a choice to feel this way, in such dismay?

Or does our unconscious simply take us away?

Last year, I survived,

The worst feelings of my life.

I am here today,

But dear God, I pray,

Please don't let these feelings eat me alive.

World, I want to survive.

I would drown them out,

So there is nothing left.

It only feels like we are powerless,

Until we stop and realize,

We have been blinded all this time.

We turn the tables,

We put our life in our own hands,

Making sure we stay alive.
