I Was Raised

I was raised by a white flower called magnolia

I was raised by a park named after it

I was raised by another park of which I attended school at

I was raised by the bayou near this all

I was raised by many houses

I was raised by the people who loved me in the houses

I was raised by many schools with many different teachers

I was raised by the kind and generous hearts in these schools

I was raised by the different music genres around me

I was raised by Lil’ Wayne

I was raised by Fall Out Boy

I was raised by many other artists

I was raised by the different types of people in my family

I was raised by my now deceased great-grandma

I was raised by my cousin that was taken too early

I was raised by my great-grandpa who has been passed

I was raised by the friends that have long since left

I was raised by Christian

I was raised by Brandon

I was raised by Clarissa and many others

I was raised by the emotions I developed at a young age

I was raised by the anger

I was raised by the loneliness

I was raised by the depression

I was raised by the technology that changed everything

I was raised with a Polaroid and flip phones

I was raised by film cameras and small touch screens

I was raised by digital cameras and iPhones

I was raised by a world that doesn’t know right from wrong anymore

I was raised by a world where people shoot schools

I was raised by a world where people kill for the fun of it

I was raised by a world where people play about killing each other

I was raised by this planet, Earth

I Was Raised…
