I Want to Be SELFISH

Wed, 07/27/2016 - 00:19 -- CH

Stop telling me what to do.

Stop telling me to share,

to be generous,

when it’s all I’ve done,

in this short life of mine.

Let me be selfish for once,

I want to have things,

things I can call mine,

not temporarily.

Do you know how it feels,

when everything you have,

can be stripped away,

by your commands (requests).

It feels awful,

to always be scared,

apprehensive,

of your words.

A word from your mouth,

can be so much more,

a word from your mouth,

can isolate me.

So let me be selfish for once,

let me keep my belongings,

let me possess things,

let me own.

I'm going to be selfish for once.
