I Want

Location

I want to rain hard on the ocean,

Shatter into a thousand peices

On the surface of emotion -

Melt into something bigger than relief

And cry with something like devotion

In the soft waters beneath.

I want to rain light on the brook,

Babble beneath the lover's fortress -

Catch moonbeams that humanity forsook

And pursue divergence in the yielding stream,

Pass Fate's cottage through your story book,

And sink like pebbles in a dream.

I want to rain dark on the lake

Send ripples careening into each other

Breaking the calm that hope will wake

And fall in murky beaded pearls

To places where thoughts cease to ache

Beneath the waves where solace curls

I want to rain soft with the storm

Run from flashes of lightening

And chances of reform...

And plunging through miles of helpless air

Find strength and mind to myself transform

In the soft waters of despair

I want to rain hard on the ocean

See myself broken in pieces

On the surface of emotion -

Thaw into something like relief

And find my own devotion

In the soft waters beneath.
