I Promise

Three short words carry such weight.

Let me bear it with you.

I'll be your foundation,

and together we can build a beautiful life.

When I say "I love you," I mean it.

I promise.

Should our relationship change then?

You'll still make me laugh and smile.

I'll still call you my best friend.

We support each other and believe in each other.

Our conversations could span the length of an encyclopedia.

I'd love to speak about anything in the world with you,

and I am so thankful that you feel the same.

Be honest with me. Always.

And I'll be honest with you.

I promise.

I'll never take more than you yourself offer me.

You are your own person and I am mine,

but with that understanding, we are each other's.

Two hearts joined in love.

Two souls bound for lifetimes.

"I love you" means more than just those three words.

I support you.

I cherish you.

I want you.

I care for you.

I protect you.

I trust you.

And I trust you will do the same for me.

This I promise.
