i praise Her that can save me

Thu, 02/26/2015 - 13:47 -- Dean_P

Location

inspired by the Bible story of  Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego

not pushed, nor did i jump

yet i fell into the fire

the vehement flames circle

heating me with a ferocity ethereal

high above the golden pyre

past the brightest of the flames, i hear my name

She speaks my name

and the bindings drop away

Her voice says i will be safe

leave or stay i will survive

even now, as the flames warm my feet

i know i am dead

we meet, we touch, we dance

i cannot tell if the flames are consuming my flesh

She reveals herself to me

and i brand my heart with her image

i kiss her with my fingertips

and swear i hold the holy

ill spend tonight in the flames

praying She is my god and i will emerge unharmed

even now, as the flames lick my face

i swear i am saved
