I, Now, and Deserve

I slashed wounds into pinked skin,

Now I kiss them red as they burn.

I pulled thoughts before they ripe,

Now I soil them to better the taste.

I use to lay in rivers wearing oleanders,

Now I wear a bachelor's button behind my ear.

I bathed in glory and showerd in pride,

Now I humbly refuse that dreadful time.

I curled hair and stapled hate,

Now I brush it with my fingertips.

I bit those nails, fingers, knuckles to the stub,

Now I polish them with cream and shine.

Oh I deserve it! Oh I deserve it!
