I Miss You, But...

It’s weird
Not talking to you
It’s only been a day
But it’s still very, very weird

I’d ask
If you miss me, but
I already know the answer
You’d say, “Of course I miss you!”

I wouldn’t
Ask because you’d tell me
As soon as you saw me and hugged me
You’d ask me if I missed you and I’d give a look

A look
That said, “Duh”
I’d tell you I did and scold you
For thinking otherwise; you’d laugh and kiss my cheek

My friends
Say we’re like a married couple
Because we talk through things before we make a decision
I couldn’t agreed more and that’s what I like about our relationship

I tell
My friends things
To share the happiness you give me
If I complain about you, it’s for advice on what to do

Our relationship
Looks cliche to outside viewers
Perhaps it is, but it’s still special in it’s own way
I wouldn’t trade it or you for anything else in world

You are
The one person I want to be with
No one could possibly take your place
No matter how hard someone may try, I will always choose you

So remember
I love you and you only
You make me very happy, so if I’m ever sad
Just know that everything is going to be okay
