I Lie Awake

Sun, 01/19/2014 - 03:15 -- cgoins

I lie awake, just thinking.

Is there more? There must be!

What else is there,

That I have yet to see?

In my bed

All warm and soft,

I try to escape the feeling.

The feeling of being lost.

I'm not alone.

It's true.

But I'd rather be alone in life

Than sleeping next to you.

The sky is out of reach.

It's hidden by the dark.

But the ceiling cannot hide,

What's burried in my heart.

I reach out my hand.

Nothing but emptiness can I feel.

The silence closes in,

Not allowing me to heal.

I need warmth.

I need sunlight.

This darkness cannot end

My everlasting fright.
