I Know Him

Sometimes I feel like a child afraid of the night,
Too frightened to move, unaware that everything is alright,
But just as I know that the morning will appear,
I know Him who rids me of all my fear.

Sometimes I feel like a sailor lost at sea,
Aching for land and yearning for safety,
But just as I know that calm waters must form,
I know Him who appeases the raging storm.

Sometimes I feel like a soldier on the frontline,
Battling the enemy while running out of precious time,
But just as I know that lives will be saved,
I know Him who promisingly delivers the day.

Sometimes I feel like a fugitive out on the run,
Trying to escape reality, chasing the setting sun,
But just as I know that I will discover where I rightly belong,
I know Him who forever guides me along.

Although life climbs to overwhelming peaks,
I know the man whom I eternally seek.
I seek the face of the one true and marvelous God,
The celestial Father who walks with me as I travel this sod.
