I Couldn't Have Done This Without You

We are born in this world

to people who want nothing more than for you to succeed

They see a purpose within you

They are the ones that fill your needs.

As I've grown into the young woman that I am

I cannot do what I am doing without thanking my best friend.

On this journey called life,

and into adulthood,

There you stood, watching, teaching me about the bad and the good.

You mean the world to me and beyond,

so much more than I can express in this poem.

I know you will always be there for me,

because no matter what, we are family.

I am blessed to have learned from you,

from your mistakes and your sucesses,

as I'm seeking much knowledge in college, asking many questions.

Thank you for taking the time to show me the skills I need today,

that will lead me with confidence as I go on my way,

to a Nursing career that will help me to save lives one day.

For believing in me and having faith in my dreams and visions,

when sometimes they seemed, at times, quite unrealistic.

I love you as always and I may not say all the time,

I thank you now and always as I prepare for this major step in my life,

a wonderful Nursing career,

with you by my side.

Mom.
