I Can't See

Complexion

Tones and shades that make up me

But why?

That’s what I ask my self,

Shielded by the hatred of Hera

I am blind

To me,

Why can’t I see what they see?

All I see is skin as dark as the black sky

Hovering over me,

Why can’t I see.

Powerful, bold, in control

All of these and more

Caring, loving, innovative,

ME!

But, why can’t I see,

It can’t be

My face is covered

Hair is in tangles

There is no other angle

I can’t bear to watch it

No mirrors,

Please!

There’s no use.

I can’t see.
