I Breathe In

Mon, 11/25/2019 - 22:16 -- K4Z

I invite you to gently feel the faint mist of dawn dust your face with dew.

Feel the heavy warmth as the sun breaks the horizon and casts its

shadows across the canvas of earth.

This is the world. This is life. A collage of moments strung about without

any sort of sorts or any care in the world. The world that paints each day

with a new set of colors.  Colors that speak louder than any politician,

Colors that shine brighter than any rage filled fire.

I breathe in. I fill my lungs with the crisp air of a generation

that finds comfort in the colors. I let the sun shine full on my tired

eyelids, stretched over patient observings, defined only

by the hours of work that the night entailed.

The wind blows to remind me I can fly. That in time my work

will come to avail. That one day, I will shatter my shackles and

leap from the ledge. That one day I will fly from my prison.

My hell that even I dwell in now, is only a temporary cell.

Its bars are on borrowed time, for before long, they will

cage me in no longer.

I breathe in. I pacify my doubt. I put my fears to rest.

I breathe in, so others may one day breathe with me.

I breathe in to remember that one day I will soar.

I breathe in to bring color to a world so starved of passion.

I breathe in.

This poem is about:
Me
My family
My community
My country
Our world

Y'know? I love all of you. Each and every single one of you who will ever read this.

I don't care who you are, I don't care what you are, there is not a single thing about you

that can or could change my love for this world and all of you.

The world makes me so angry some times, but then, it brings me so much peace.

We may be a mess, but as long as there is one human being left who can love someone

else, there will always be hope.

So I love you. Each and every one of you, and if you don't hear that often, I am

especially talking to you.

Never forget who you are, not for anyone.

Keep on keeping on everyone.
