I am Proud
Location
To some, everything comes naturally.
Money, fame, is recieved upon birth.
I am not one of those people.
My parents are not famous, nor are they rich.
We originate from Colombia, the land of Cocaine.
Here we came speaking a different language,
seeking a better life.
Yet we are shut out, frowned upon,
by racial remarks.
We are not all Mexican, however they don't care.
To them we all look the same.
I am hispanic, and I am proud.
I shall never hide me identity to those who frown upon us.
I will stand tall and say "I am Colombian."
