I am a Photograph

I am a Photograph

I am the slip of paper on the top shelf,

The blotch of color in between slabs of plastic,

The secret behind glass.

I am the beginning, and I am the end of every tale.

I am the secret keeper

My whispers as light and airy as the

                                                                   Pink

                                                                             Horizon

And as dark and passionate as the

                                                                  Indigo

                                                                                 Sea.

I am the beginning, and I am the end of every tale.

I am the beckoner, the caller, the watcher, the warrior,

I am unabashed,

I say what I mean and only what I believe.

I am the beginning, and I am the end of every tale.

I am not vulnerable to manipulation,

I am what I am,

No more, no less.

I am the beginning, and I am the end of every tale.

I am painful, I do not forgive,

Yet I am merciful,

A contradiction told only by the emergence of color on my pale surface.

I am the beginning, and I am the end of every tale.

I am a story,

One that I willingly tell,

One that I do not have a choice but to tell.

I am the beginning, and I am the end of every tale.

I am a cry of pain,

I am a sigh of relief,

I am a fight for dominance,

I am a relinquish of power,

I am a treasured heirloom,

I am a hated pollutant,

I am a living soul,

I am a corpse.

I am the beginning, and I am the end of every tale.

I am a variance of the normalcy that surrounds this world,

And yet I am the same story told over and over.

I am the beginning, and I am the end of every tale.
