I Am Not A Cat

Location

In a miniskirt and tank top

She walks down the street

Head down, earbuds in, music off, cell phone in hand

"Give me a smile sexy"

"Come have dinner with me and I'll help you out of those clothes"

"Don't be so upset, I can give you some fun"

"In those clothes, you're just asking for it"

Laughter, cat calls, wandering hands

Next time she wears a dress down to her knees, well above her breasts

She walks down the street

Head down, earbuds in, music off, cell phone in hand

"Smile for me beautiful"

"Have dinner with me sweeie and I'll get that dress off you"

"Be happy, I'll show you a good time"

"Dressed like that, you're just asking for it"

Laughter, cat calls, wandering hands

The next day in a sweatshirt and jeans

She walks down the street

Head down, earbuds in, music off, cell phone in hand

"Smile for me baby"

"Have dinner with me, sweetheart, and I'll buy you a nice short dress"

"Cheer up darling, I'll make you happy"

"When you look like that, you're just asking for it"

Laughter, cat calls, wandering hands

The next day, armed with earbuds,

She knows she must brave the street

If only to get to school and back

And she knows that no matter what she wears

She'll be asking for it again
