I am my fathers daughter. 

To the little girl that never got to experience the love she really needed from her father, you’re okay. You still love him, you’ve chose peace over chaos. You’ve learned to appreciate him in a way you would have never thought. 

I am my father’s daughter.  

And I would’ve never thought I’d be proud to be my fathers daughter. That while you missed many of my greatest accomplishments, I will never forget you being there for my first real track competition. When I was ready to give up and you told me “whatever you do, don’t stop” as you continued to run right next to me until you crossed the finish line with me. Thank you for believing in me when I couldn’t believe in myself.

“Whatever you do, don’t stop” is what I constantly tell myself when I wanna give up during a work out. “Whatever you do, don’t stop” is what I tell myself when I wanna give up on my goals. It’s a small phrase that has changed my life forever. It’s the dopamine my brain needs to continue to push me to be the best version of myself that I know I can be. 

I am my fathers daughter. 

That while you weren’t the greatest, you did teach me some valuable lessons that will follow me for the rest of my days and for that I’m forever thankful.
