I Am Good

Five pounds and 6 ounces

Sick and yellowed

Hospitalized during Christmas

Elementary school now

Crying because I couldn't fit into Bobbi Jack tees

I didn't fit into anything

Middle school

Crying in the dressing room

Over a pair of pj pants marked size large

Wearing whatever fit, from whatever age group

And being asked why I had the same shirt as someone's grandmother

High school

I "cared"

I "cared" to wear makeup

I "cared" to fix my hair during each period switch

I "cared" not to eat lunch

I "cared" enough to say I wasn't hungry

College

I care

I actually care that I feel good

I actually care to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner

I feel better, look better

I laugh harder, love more

I am good
